The Trailwind Series

Swim. Gravel.
Run. Repeat.

Trailwind is a virtual gravel triathlon series for endurance athletes who want to race somewhere more interesting. Three disciplines, real terrain, your own backyard roads. The competition is global. The routes are yours.

Six events across the season. Sprint, Olympic, and Full distances. Race once or race all season — it’s your calendar.

The Format

Easy To Enter.
Fun To Do.

Step 01

Pick Your Distance

Sprint, Olympic, or Full. Start wherever feels right or go straight to the distance that excites you. Register for the full season or drop into individual events.

Step 02

Plan Your Routes

Pick your swim spot, find your gravel roads, choose a run. Your local area is your course — and exploring it is half the fun.

Step 03

Go Do It

Complete all three disciplines within the event window. Track each segment with Strava, Garmin, or Wahoo and submit for the leaderboard.

Step 04

Celebrate Your Finish

Land on the leaderboard, earn your finisher recognition, and share your routes. Top athletes win prizes. Everyone gets a great day out.

Three Disciplines

Swim. Gravel.
Run.

01
Discipline One

Swim

“Open water, lake, reservoir — your local spot becomes your start line.”

  • Open water or pool — whatever’s accessible to you
  • Distance scales to your chosen event format
  • A familiar start to an unfamiliar kind of race day
  • Track via Garmin, Wahoo, or any GPS device
02
Discipline Two

Gravel

“The part where you get to explore. Pick roads you’ve always wanted to try.”

  • Gravel or mixed terrain — the more interesting the better
  • Your local roads, your favorite routes, new ones to discover
  • Bike handling and route-reading matter as much as fitness
  • Track via Strava, Garmin, or Wahoo
03
Discipline Three

Run

“Keep it on trail or gravel. Finish the way you started — moving.”

  • Trail or gravel surface — stay off pavement if you can
  • Running off the bike on varied terrain is its own fun skill
  • A finish that wraps up a genuinely good day out
  • The kind of run you’ll actually want to do again
Build Your Ideal Season

Four Distances.
Four Formats.

The series runs four multisport events across four distances. Choose the format that fits your training and your goals — triathlon, duathlon, aquathon, or dry tri. Every format is available at every distance.

~ 13 miles

Sprint

Sharp. Fast. A proper race day.

Big enough to feel like a real race. Short enough to leave you wanting more. The perfect entry point — or a fast race day when life is full.

~ 60 miles

Half Iron

Heavy. Demands commitment.

A proper day out. Half Iron rewards pacing, good route planning, and the preparation that makes crossing the finish feel genuinely earned.

~ 120 miles

Full Iron

The deepest effort. All the way down.

You’re not skimming the surface. Full Iron is the longest day, the deepest effort, the one that changes how you think about what you’re capable of.
